Sandy is the new girl at Rydell High. Throughout the movie, Sandy undergoes a transformation from the sweet, innocent girl from Australia of the 1950s to the tight clothes wearing, rock-and-roll listening girl of the 1960s.
Rizzo
Rizzo is the leader of the Pink Ladies. She is one of the most popular girls in school and is idolized by many of the students. She underwent a pregnancy scare. She symbolized the start of the transition into the more laid back lifestyle of the 60s.
Frenchy
Frenchy showed a stereotype of the "stupid high-school dropout". She exemplified the uncommitted child of the 60s in comparison with the way people used to focus in the 1950s.
Marty
Marty showed the values and morals of a 1960s girl. She looked for older men and thought that she was too mature for the boys her age. She did not have the same morals as girls were supposed to in the decades before.
